2nd Day in Alamogordo #2

Hello and welcome to our blog!

This post is about the second day that we spent in a hotel in Alamogordo.

That day we got a lot of information about the border between Mexico and the USA, a border which is constantly talked about on the media.

First we went to the US Border Patrol Museum, which informed about the work of the men and women that control the border.

We also visited another museum, the Chamizal Memorial Museum, which was also about the border, but which treated the subject in a totally different way. In comparison to the first museum it didn’t only talk about the work of the border patrol and how important it is to control the border because of smuggling etc. It talked about the importance of a good relationship between the USA and Mexico and the importance of maintaining good relations. Not far from that museum we could already see the border.

Then we went to a nice place from where we could see the city of El Paso and also the river that separates the city.

We also went to the downtown of El Paso, which was totally different to all the American downtowns we had seen before. You could hear most people speaking spanish and all the signs were in written in Spanish as well as in English.

After that we just drove on until we had reached the border. We could actually touch the massive fence, which is such an important fence.

In the end of the day we had dinner in an Asian restaurant. Just like in Germany, the restaurants also adapt to the customs of the country their guests live in.

Thank you for reading this blog post!
