Hello and welcome to our blog!
Before visiting the USA for the first time in my entire life, I didn’t know what to expect at all.
When thinking about the USA back then, I mainly thought of movies, cowboys, huge cities and fast food.
Now, after the exchange, I know a lot more about this country. Yes, the School looked exactly like the schools in American movies and we ate a lot of fast food. But I would have never thought that New Mexico, a state noone ever talks about, has such an impressive nature. White Sands and the Tent Rocks were my absolute highlights.
In Tulsa I met so many nice and open people, and my host family made it really easy for me to learn more about this culture and to have the great time that I had.
I learnt that the methods they use in American Schools are totally different from those in German schools. Additionally I learnt that politeness is much more important in the USA than in Germany, as well as sports in school and sports teams of the hometown and the homecountry.
The Social Media Project that I did on this blog helped me to reflect on the things that I saw and now I have something to look back on when I’m older.
I am very thankful to all the people that made it possible for our group to visit this country. The three weeks went by so fast and I’m really glad that I could make so many new experiences!
