Hello and welcome to our blog!
Our group went on another trip to the downtown of Tulsa. This time we went to the John Hope Reconciliation Center in the north of the city. It is a place to hang out or reconciliate. The park wants to remind the population of the burning down of the Black Wall Street and the problem of racism in Tulsa. The town is still parted in North and South, and racism is still a problem nowadays. We had a guide who told us about the history of the relation between black and white people in Tulsa, and what has to be done to improve it. This was really interesting.
Then we went to a baseball stadium, the stadium of the Tulsa Drillers, which was very cool.
After that we went to the Black Wall Street, where the black population had built up a well-working economy, until the whole street was burnt down because of racism. We also saw where Booker T. Washington High School, our exchange school had been before.
We had lunch at Fat Guy’s, which was very good.
