Heading back to Albuquerque

Hey and welcome back!

Now our round-trip is nearly over and we drove back to the hotel where we stored our luggage. As at the outward trip we did some stops. First we stopped at the trinity site. The trinity site is the place where the scientists tested the first atomic bomb. After that we drove on and stopped at Bosque del Apache which is a national wildlife refuge. We saw a short film and tested some of the interactive options at the visitor center. After getting some information we drove around the refuge to look for some birds and other animals. We actually did not see a lot animals just some ducks and cranes. As there are living mountain lions we saw a warning sign as well which informed us in the case of an emergency. Luckily we drove on and stopped for the last time at the Very Large Array in Socorro. This was our longest stop. We had a guided-tour and we also watched a film. After looking around the museum we visited some operators and they explained us what they are doing and how. Then we saw the antennes and took some photos. As we arrived in Albuquerque we needed to pack again. To end the day we went to the Route 66 diner where we enjoyed burgers and fries.

Stay tuned and read on!
